Marinating With Tea

Marinating with tea is such a wonderful way to cook with tea and makes for delicious and tender food. It is great to use for your next BBQ to impress your friends and family!

Marinade for Beef, Pork, and Game Meat:


  • 3 Cups freshly brewed Black Tea
  • 1 Cup Beef or Vegetable Stock
  • 1/2 Cup Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Cup Red Wine Vinegar
  • Black Pepper to Taste
  • 2 Sprigs Thyme
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 2 Cloves

Marinade for Chicken and Pheasant:


  • 1 Cup Plain Yogurt
  • 2 Tbsp. Black Tea or Green Tea
  • 1 Cup Chopped Shallots or Onions
  • 1/2 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  • Black Pepper to Taste

Place your meat in a resealable bag or marinade container and marinate for 2 to 24 hours in the refrigerator. Before cooking, remove meat from marinade, shake off excess marinade, and grill as usual.
